Saxophonist Aaron Whitman is an emerging young talent in the Dallas/Ft. Worth area. By the time of his graduation from Rowlett High School, he had already begun playing professionally and spent two years in Collin College's combo program. Since then, Aaron has furthered his education at Collin (where he was named to the Community College All-State Jazz Ensemble in 2008) and the University of Texas at Arlington.
Aaron has performed with Sir Earl Toon(Kool & The Gang), Tom "Bones" Malone, Wayne Bergeron, Robert “Sput” Searight, Gino Inglehart(Badu), Quamon Fowler, Kim Richmond, Clay Jenkins, Gabe Jarrett, and others. He has also performed at the Burlington Discover Jazz Festival in Vermont, The Greeley Colorado Jazz Festival and the Elmhurst Jazz Festival in Illinois, receiving Outstanding Soloist accolades at the latter. He has been in ensembles selected to perform at TMEA, and Midwest Clinic, as well as venues all across the country. Locally, he has performed with the Inner City All Stars, Watusi, Top, Ice House, and The Vince Lujan Project. He is active as a free-lance musician in the area.
Aaron teaches privately in the Garland Independent School District, and elementary music classes through the Musical Minds program. He may be contacted at email@example.com.
